Lake Washington in the Seattle area is the second largest lake in the state of Washington behind Lake Chelan. It's about 22,000 acres in size with an average depth of 108 feet.  The water temperature ranges from the mid 40's in the winter to the mid 70's in the summer. The ship canal provides access through the Mountlake cut to Lake Union and the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks. The Locks provide access to Puget Sound and the Pacific Ocean.

*** Be aware that there are many Police boats patrolling Lake Washington who can stop and question you for a "Safety Check". This can result in fines and arrest, I recommend avoiding events such as Seafair. ***
