Lake Washington in the Seattle area is the second largest lake in
the state of Washington behind Lake Chelan. It's
about 22,000 acres in size with an average depth of
108 feet. The water temperature ranges from
the mid 40's in the winter to the mid 70's in the
summer. The ship canal provides access through the
Mountlake cut to Lake Union and the
Hiram M. Chittenden Locks to Puget Sound and the Pacific Ocean.
There are many public boat launch ramps on
Lake Washington, most are south of the I90 bridge.
Some of the best Seattle boating is on Lake Washington
and Lake Union.
